Apidor is the only manufacturer in India who produces Rail Sleeper Cutting Wheels. These wheels are for HEAVY DUTY application of cutting Composite Material Railway Sleepers. These Sleepers are made of Reinforced Concrete. The wheels thus are required to cut concrete as well as the steel reinforcements. The typical diameter of these wheels is 710mm.  They operate at a speed of 80 m/s. on automatic machines. Since they have to slice through a large section of concrete and steel these wheels are reinforced with 3to 4 nos of high tensile fibre glass reinforcements to give the wheels the necessary strength.
